Technology in PHysical Education
Using technology in physical education class is becoming more and more popular in today's teaching society. Technology is a great tool that can enhance learning and instruction within your class. I am currently enrolled in a masters course at SUNY Cortland that teaches me how to incorporate technology into my teaching. Within this section I will be attaching different assignments that I have completed that involve technology. Movement Analysis Project
The movement analysis project was completed to help a student pick a skill and help them improve their performance of that skill. During this project, I used the technology app called " Technique". Through this app my student was able to watch herself complete the skill during practice, which overall helps her to improve. The student was able to watch herself over a 2 week period and see what part of the skill she needed to fix. Through the technology that I had available, my student was able to improve her performance and being able to watch herself on video most definitely helped guide her to success. Through this assignment, we were told to explore twitter for two weeks. Like myself, I was unaware before doing this assignment, just how great Twitter can be when it comes to communicating with others who share your profession. Every week there are physical education chats that go on with hundreds of physical education teachers who share thoughts, facts, strategies and recommendations with one another. Through this project, I was able to connect with new professionals, who have a lot of great ideas to enhance learning for our students. Exploration of Technology Tools
In this assignment that I completed through SUNY Cortland, we were instructed to explore three different technology tools that could be used in our physical education classes. We then had to pick the piece of technology that we most wanted to use, pick a grade level outcome, and connect it all together to create a lesson. Below I have my findings from exploring the three pieces of technology I chose and also my grade level outcome.
