LAP TRACKING IN PHYS ED

Each month students set a personal goal for how many laps they would like to accomplish. Students have 5 minutes before class starts to walk their laps. The student with the highest amount of laps wins bonus points towards their GPA.

Lap tracking helps students: gets students to class earlier, set goals, track personal assessment data, helps teacher with students personal fitness goals & helps keep data on students attendance.

SHERO PROJECT

Keiana one of my most athletic students, did her SHERO (She-hero) project on me in her CAPSTONE class. Thank you for seeing me as someone you look up to.

DOG THERAPY AT RESEARCH
For a few years now I've been involved with rescuing and fostering dogs. This is my personal dog Cali. Cali is a rescue dog, turned into a therapy dog. I brought Cali to work one day to see how the students would react. The goal of training a therapy dog is to help improve the lives of other people in need of companionship. Therefore, these professional dogs are trained to work in public places. Safe to say, Cali was a success at Research!

DONORS CHOOSE FUNDING CAMPAIGN

Thanks to @Ripple my student’s received a projector screen, two HP laptops & markers. I am so incredibly thankful & excited for their donation. Technology is one of my passions, and I feel it can enhance any classroom. During my Master’s program at SUNY Cortland, the course “Technology in PE”, increased my knowledge on the diverse ways to incorporate technology into my class. I am assertive I will utilize the materials donated to enhance my PE classroom.
My Heart Beats For My Health Campaign!
By having these requested heart rate monitors, students will learn to track their heart rate. They will learn heartbeat data into personalized insights on stress, exercise and sleep. The feedback from this heart rate system will provide my students and me, feedback reports of meaningful physiological information that makes physical education fun and efficient. The automatic reports gives instant color coded feedback that will help inspire my students to increase intensity and reach desired goals. As the teacher, I will be able to monitor up to 40 students at once, which allows me insight on personal fitness goals and how I can improve or challenge students. I can use this system during all units that I teach during the school year. The incorporation of technology will make a significant difference in my physical education classroom.

HEALTH EDUCATION
Units Incorporated into my Health Education classes include: Sex Ed, Nutrition, Violence in the media, gang violence, Mental Illnesses, Healthy Relationships, Verbal, Physical & Mental Abuse Conflicts, Suicide, Self-Esteem & Self Health, Goal setting & much more!
